“It was a warm but slightly hazy morning along the east coast in the picturesque fishing village of Port Clyde, Maine. There was a painting in any direction you looked, but this little boat pulled up on the shore readying for some dry dock repairs seemed so comfortable in the warm morning light I had to paint it. I am normally landlocked at my home in Indiana and have a special fascination and appreciation for the coastal towns… they seem to be an artist haven. Whenever we get an opportunity to visit areas like this, I take as many reference photos as possible for future paintings. Scenes like this live forever in an artist eye.”
