For this drawing, I used a reference photo taken by Niko Pekonen. I was drawn to this particular photo because I found this wolf’s facial expression, body language, and eye contact to be quite menacing, creating an intensity that really draws you in. I felt that the snow surrounding him creates a pleasing simplicity to the image. By the same token, the snow blowing around in the distance forming wispy little clouds adds a feeling of enchantment, which is something that I’ve always been drawn to
