Annually each year I give a watercolor workshop in Michigan. Traditionally, after the workshop I rendezvous with three artist friends who live in the vicinity, Rod Lawrence, Kim Diment, and T.J. Lick, for a couple days of R&R, and plein-aire painting. Often we will paint on Rod’s property near Kalkaska, Michigan. It’s a beautiful wooded area in a great location along a river and has several beautiful lanes and an old abandon rail way. This painting was done along that rail way, now referred to as The Trail.
