Artwork Description
Male and female downies visit our suet feeders regularly offering
contrast to the juncos, goldfinches and chickadees. The tail feather brace and dynamic markings on the folded wings give it prominence amidst the flurry of activity in the tangle of branches of our old apple tree.
I’m enjoying the strength and subtle qualities of hand made mulberry fibre papers created by artisans who to this day ply their trade steeped in ancient traditions.
The refined texture and sheen of the background sheet adds a new elegance in my presentation as I explore
methods of celebrating paper as a medium and fine art form.
