“Flowers in their natural habitat, with all their imperfections intrigue me. I love natural and scientific details captured in paint, but I also desire the artistic qualities of composition and value. While most orchids I see are in the context of an artificial culture and hybridized, Sobennikoffia Robusta is an orchid endemic to Madagascar. Watercolour has become a favourite medium for capturing the translucence and textures of petals, leaves, and roots.”
