“When I sat down to compose this piece, I immediately imagined a painting of striking wonderful reds,” said Eric Christensen, Master Watercolor Artist. “I started with the deep ruby color of this wonderful Cabernet and worked to progressively lighter shades: crimson red in the shadows of the table runner; touches of Ferrari Red highlights in the wine glasses; bright scarlet highlights in the bamboo chair and a soft candy apple red in the stripes on the pillow in the background. As an artist, it is imperative to be absolutely correct and astute in choosing the correct shades of color to make a painting believable. I believe that when it comes to color, this painting is ‘Right on Red.'”
