Artwork Description
Having lived in western Canada my entire life, I never tire of seeing these majestic animals. I live not far from Jasper, AB, and elk are a very common sight throughout both the Banff and Jasper National Parks, which are places I love to visit (usually with camera in hand!) I was especially drawn to the contrast between the warm foliage in the foreground and the darker background in this image. It is quite interesting that while some people see a dark stormy sky in the background, some viewers see a mountain slope!
