“Eyes fascinate me because they are windows into the soul, both for man, as well as for beast. Eyes reveal a host of emotions, including calm, joy, fear, recognition, and sorrow. Eyes are one of the first parts of a painting that I complete. The eyes must convey what they need to reveal before I can continue with the rest of the painting. I paint the eyes with acrylic, as that medium allows the eyes to look liquid. The rest of the painting is scratchboard, for intricate detail.”
