Christmas at the Flower Market
Artwork Description
Once again that special spirit of Christmas fills the air and, in this case, the flower market as well. In place of the rainbow of summer flowers, the inside of the market is filled with poinsettias, candles and mistletoe, all surrounded by the fragrance of spice. On the wood stove, there is cider, ready to warm all who come in.
A variety of plump handmade wreaths and bright red bows to go with them are ready to brighten any door or window. A fine selection of freshly cut fir and spruce trees, so handsome as they stand straight and tall, wait for someone to take them home. They provide a sturdy background and will soon hold all the handmade and homemade ornaments, gingerbread cookies, candy canes and popcorn garlands that were hung ever so lovingly.
Once the angel is placed on top, everyone will join in singing, “Oh, Christmas tree, oh, Christmas tree, how lovely are they branches.” How true. Merry Christmas, everyone!
