“I was enjoying a Spring-time break-out plein-aire paint-out at a friends farm. While searching for a painting subject it was suggested that I go down to the pasture and paint their horse, old Sonny Boy. As I set up to paint, as close as I could get to the horse while he was leaning against the fence, he decided to take a stroll up to the barn. But aha, this was even better, the barn was shining with the morning sunlight, making a cheerful and appropriate setting for ole Sunny Boy.”
