Maxwell Nimeck

Dr. Nimeck’s work combines traditional and Chinese techniques in a direct approach to watercolor. Favorite subjects are seascapes, landscapes and florals. Maxwell Nimeck’s paintings, collages and assemblages have been shown in professional galleries in New York and Philadelphia as well as most of the major juried art shows in New Jersey: Westfield, Princeton, Hunterdon and Monmouth Counties. Most recently, his work was included in juried exhibitions at the Monmouth Festival on the Arts, Perkins Art Center, and the Garden State Watercolor Society Shows at the the New Jersey State Museum and Ellarslie Museum.
Maxwell Nimeck has had solo exhibitions at Rutgers University, Ukrainian Cultural Center, New York and Ukrainian Gallery, Philadelphia. His work has appeared in juried exhibitions at Johnson & Johnson, AT&T, Nabisco, Bristol Myers Squibb, Educational Testing Service, New Jersey Designer Craftsmen, Barron Art Center and Banff School of Fine Arts. Flora, an encaustic collage, received the highest award at the Nabisco Gallery exhibit, Art On My Own Time.
Dr. Nimeck studied painting and drawing at the University of Alberta, Banff School of Fine Arts and University of Texas; collage and encaustic technique at the University of Wisconsin. He has both studied and taught ceramics at Middlesex County College. Dr. Nimeck teaches beginning and intermediate watercolor at adult education programs.
