Artwork Description
Royal Troon Golf Club was formed in 1878 with 58 members and five holes fashioned out of heather, whins and dunes. This same turf was the scene of the Open’s first three-man playoff with Mark Calcavecchia defeating Greg Norman and Wayne Grady in 1989. Royal Troon has hosted seven Open Golf Championships with such great champions as Arnold Palmer, Tom Weiskopf, Tom Watson and in 1997 Justin Leonard.
