Artwork Description
To the Blackfeet Indians, like most Native Americans, the Earth represented mother. It was often the custom for braves and elders to walk away from camp in the early evening so they could admire nature’s splendor. Because of these feelings, they couldn’t understand why the European settlers would bore into the Earth’s soil.
