Artwork Description
The warm rays of the afternoon sun dance across the picturesque citta dell’amore, lightly bidding the facades of the buildings farewell for the day. A stillness falls over the city and suddenly time no longer exists. As the gondolier sings at mezza voce to his passenger, the small wakes left by the oar create an acoustic melody to accompany the softly spoken notes. Love drunk and basking in the afterglow of this moment, the lone passenger gives himself completely to Venice. As he drifts off into the sunset, he sighs contently knowing that she has given herself right back.
