Artwork Description
“When the technology came along and developed a new method of reaping with the the “rolling” of the hay and straw instead using the old “hay bails” system, I must admit I was a little disappointed, as I am over changes of most anything. In the past, I’ve always enjoyed painting the stacks of hay bails, and fodder shocks of corn in the field at harvest time. But, in a short time I noticed the patterns that these rolls make in the scenes and landscapes across the land. The shadows they cast and the designs they make, is not only interesting, but also beautiful, and add a lot of substance for a painting subject.”
